Following are some of the insights into the recent ongoing research:

Indians differ in their should judgments (i.e., what Indians are supposed to purchase) versus want judgments (i.e., what Indians personally desire).

Financially constrained Americans were relatively more likely to prefer social purchase such as sports equipment to enjoy by themselves (e.g., a sports bike or skates) and less likely to prefer social purchase such as sports equipment to enjoy with others (e.g., a pair of badminton rackets or soccer ball).

When people experience scarcity of money, they are more willing to donate in form of time. When people experience scarcity of time, they are more willing to donate in the form of money. Hence, under Covid-19, it may be useful to volunteer time.
